2025 Goat Kids Part Two and an Odd Nest

Our last post was about Poppy and Bluebelle and their new kids. At that time, we were still waiting for Vinca and Daisy to have theirs.

With Daisy, we are still waiting.

Last Saturday, Vinca gave birth to her first kids, a pair of bucklings. Just like her own mama Poppy, and namesake grandma Vinca, she is an awesome mom!

It's been a week since then and the kids are enjoying getting outside to play.

Notice the one on the left has little wattles?

Adorable!

I just thought I would add a couple of pictures from the barn. On the north side of the hay feeder:

Poppy with her two daughters, one year old Zinnia and two year old Vinca. That's Daisy in the background off to the right.

And on the south side:

Daisy, her sister Belle, and Belle's daughter Bluebelle

I find it interesting how they interact as family groups.

I will close with kind of an odd ball photo - kind of creepy in a way so don't look if you are squeamish. It is just an illustration of the odd places that hens will choose to lay their eggs.

Yep, that is a deer head mummy...

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Next time we should one or more Daisy kids to show you. Until then, Happy Easter and be well friends!
