February, Where is Our Snow!

In January I had high hopes that we finally had some snow that would stick. That was not to be and if you are local you know - almost every bit we had is gone and warmer than normal temps continue.

The does are spending much more time outdoors that they usually do in winter. I caught them last week while enjoying some sun in the pasture.

At the top is Belle, then Poppy and Daisy. The doelings are Vinca and Bluebelle.

Sorry about the afternoon shadows!

They have enjoyed the last of the Christmas trees that we had - this is what they look like when the does are finished with them -

That bark must be delicious!

The chickens enjoy their outdoor time too. We are fortunate that we can sometimes get spent beer grains from our local brew pub - they love them!

Weekends usually find the guys out in the woods. Here Rollie is pulling a log out with his trusty W-D.

I had the privilege of presenting a soap-making workshop at the Back to Basics Conference held in Pine River last weekend. It was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again next year.

I will conclude here with photo of the stray cat we have been providing food for. I have been calling him Lars although his gender actually is in question. I think he is a handsome lad even without a tail.

Thank you for stopping by the blog, we hope you enjoy seeing our farm critters. Until next time, be well friends!
